No. On the Basic membership at Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) you can sell on TPT and on your own store, and many sellers will do both.
What matters is which TPT membership you hold from January 1, 2027.
- Basic. You can sell anywhere. Keep your TPT store open. It stays your shop window while your own store grows.
- Exclusive. Your digital teaching resources can be sold only on TPT. You can still have your own website, give away free resources and build an email list. The store itself waits until you leave Exclusive.
We will not build a way around the Exclusive rule. Hidden stores, password-protected pages and second accounts put your TPT account at risk.
How this section works
These articles are written to be read in order: deciding, saving what you have on TPT, what a store of your own is, bringing your products over, sales tax, getting visitors, and where to get help. Follow the Next link at the bottom of each one.
Up At Last is not affiliated with or endorsed by Teachers Pay Teachers. The rules and rates described here are TPT's, as published in October 2026, and they can change. Read TPT's own pages before you decide.
The longer version of this answer, with a calculator for your own numbers, is on our page for TPT sellers.
