How does the free move to Up At Last work? Print

  • 0

We copy your site to our server, test it on a temporary address, show it to you, and point your domain across only when you say go. The move is included with every plan.

  1. We take a copy. Files, database and email. Nothing changes at your current host, and your site stays up the whole time.
  2. We set it up here. Your site runs on a temporary address on our server, and we click through it properly: forms, checkout, logins.
  3. You look at it. You get the link. Nothing is switched until you have seen it working and said go.
  4. The domain is pointed here. DNS moves across and the SSL certificate is issued again for the new server.

Your site keeps serving from the old host until that last step.

To start, order a hosting plan if you have not already, then open a ticket and tell us which site you want moved. See What do you need from me to move my site?

Afterward, keep the old copy in place for two weeks, in case anything turns out to be missing. See Will my site go down during the move?
