What should I put in a support ticket? Print

  • 0

Tell us which site, what you did, what you expected and what happened. The more exact you are, the fewer questions we have to send back before we can start.

  • The site or email address it is about.
  • The exact page where it happens. Copy the address from your browser.
  • What you did, step by step.
  • What you saw. Copy any error message word for word.
  • When it started, and whether anything changed around then, such as a new plugin or a setting.
  • Whether it happens every time, and on more than one device.

Attachments

You can attach files of these types: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .txt and .pdf. A screenshot of the problem is the most useful thing you can add. To send anything else, such as a spreadsheet, save it as a PDF or paste the relevant part into the message.

Never put a card number in a ticket. We do not need it.

If you have two unrelated problems, open two tickets, so each can be worked on and closed on its own.

An example

"On yourdomain.com/contact I filled in the form and pressed Send at about 2pm today. The page said the message was sent, and nothing arrived at info@yourdomain.com. I checked spam. It worked last week. Screenshot attached."
